Clinic split-fee calculator

Work out how session fees split between a private clinic and an associate or self-employed practitioner in the UK.

Introduction

Clear fee-split arrangements help clinics and practitioners agree expectations before sessions take place. This calculator estimates the pound amounts that correspond to a percentage split on a single session fee or a batch of identical sessions.

Figures are for planning and illustration only. Your contract, employment status, and VAT registration may change how income should be recorded. Always confirm arrangements with your accountant or adviser.

Context and how to use this

Percentage splits appear in associate agreements, locum arrangements, and multi-practitioner clinics. Modelling the pound impact of a few percentage points before you renegotiate helps both sides see the same picture.

Keep the “session fee” definition aligned with your contract—whether that is the patient invoice total, a net treatment amount, or something else entirely.

Common questions

Does this split include VAT?
The calculator uses the numbers you enter. If your agreement refers to the invoice total including VAT, enter that; if it refers to a net fee, use that instead.
What if room hire or card fees are deducted first?
This model applies the percentage to one fee field. If costs are taken off first, reduce the fee you enter or use the practitioner take-home calculator for a retention-style layout.
