Therapist hourly revenue calculator
Estimate average revenue per clinical hour for therapists and physios based on sessions completed and typical fees.
Introduction
Hourly revenue is a simple way to compare days, locations, or service mixes when session lengths differ. Enter the fees you actually collected (or expect to collect) and the clinical hours those sessions occupied.
This is a business metric, not a recommendation about how to price or schedule patients. Use it alongside your own records and professional judgement.

Context and how to use this
Hourly revenue helps when session lengths vary or when you compare different weeks. It is average income divided by the clinical hours you assign to that income—not the same as payroll hourly pay.
Define “clinical hours” the same way each time: some teams include note-taking buffers; others measure only face-to-face time.
Common questions
- Should travel or admin be in the denominator?
- Only if you want a “whole working day” view. For comparing billable productivity, most practices use patient-facing diary hours only.
- Cash or accrual revenue?
- Use the basis you already use for internal reporting so trends stay comparable month to month.
