Revenue per clinician calculator

Calculate revenue per clinician FTE for UK physio and private clinics. Turn period clinical revenue into per-clinician and annualised figures for planning.

Introduction

Revenue per clinician is a common UK private-practice KPI: how much clinical (or total) revenue the site generates for each full-time-equivalent clinician. Owners use it to compare months, sites, or associate-heavy versus employed mixes.

Enter revenue and clinician FTE for the same period. Optionally enter how many months that period covers to see a rough annualised figure—useful when you only have a quarter of clean data.

Context and how to use this

Revenue per clinician FTE helps compare productivity of the clinical workforce across months or sites. Keep the revenue definition stable—clinical fees only versus fees plus retail—and convert all clinicians to FTE the same way.

It is not the same as practitioner take-home. Associates may generate high revenue per FTE while clinic retention stays thin.

Common questions

Should associates count in the FTE denominator?
Yes if you want site-level revenue productivity. Convert their clinical hours to FTE with the same rule you use for employed staff.
What does annualised mean here?
If you enter a 3-month period, annualised multiplies period revenue per clinician by 12 ÷ 3. It assumes the quarter is representative—seasonal clinics should be careful.
Is this a UK physio industry average?
No. The tool calculates your figure from your inputs. External “averages” vary by specialty, location, and associate model.
